60 Tigres
60 Tigres
60 Tigres can only be described as a wonderful fusion of world flavors that enables the audience to taste funk, rock, and psychedelia sound poured through a Latin filter. With prominent use of bass, guitar and keys, 60 Tigres shows a measure of musical schooling and polish that even the well-trained ear can’t help but appreciate.
With the basic on stage premise of blending all the styles that influence the band, 60 Tigres puts on an incredible live performance that truly showcases the talent and practice at hand. Through the use of these prominent filtered styles as well as both Spanish and English lyrics, the band hopes to bring awareness to the social situations prevalent in their native Monterrey and all over Mexico.
From the initial launch of their first album, Los Emigrantes, the band has received major airplay from both Mexican and international radio. They work hard to catch the ears of everyone with appearances across the world at such places as South by Southwest in Austin, the MySpace Latin Festival in Chicago, Automatico in Los Angeles, and the Hellow Fest back home in Monterrey.
They have shared the stage with many notable bands from the Latin rock scene, bands such as Zoe, Amigos Invisibles, Plastilina Mosh, and Jumbo. Their last album, Garage, was produced by Mauricio Terrazina and was released in May of 2009. The video for its first single, Modelos sin Personalidad, received airplay all over the most prominent music stations viewed in Mexico and all of Latin America.
They are currently nominated for “Best Artist” and “Best Electro/Dance Album” at the Indie-O Awards, the most important awards in Mexican Independent Music. Their live album is expected sometime in the next year, as they continue to tour and play all over Mexico and the world.
